Where to begin?
I suppose I should start when I was young, around 9 years old, when I discovered YouTube. I reminisce now about the shoddily shot videos that I once deemed to be perfect expressions of comedy, of art. The people on this infant platform started and launched a new age of media consumption that changed the way humans interact- online video. For the past 8 years I have watched this experiment grow into a huge business that took the world by storm. Now, I want to be a part of it.
I have always been fascinated by stories. My father used to tell me stories every night before I went to bed, but he did it a little differently. He allowed me to create the characters, the setting, and the idea for the story that he would then flesh out fully. That method made me love stories even more, because I could help create characters that would grow and become something completely new. My father helped me flesh out worlds that I never knew that I could create.
Now, I am embarking on a new challenge. I have challenged myself to create four short films in four weeks- a task that no sane person would even think about attempting. But this is something I am passionate about. I am ready to devote hours of my time into creating stories that force viewers to question their lives, society, and the world around them.
Because that's what story tellers do. They challenge. They take risks. They explore. But most importantly, they try.
And isn't that what we're all here for?
That's what I'm here for!
