Day 12: Friday April 10, 2015

This weeks video is different from every other video, because the whole idea is that I take interviews with people and use that data to form an opinion on society. It's like a science experiment where I gather information, then I use that information to extrapolate and understand more about the world than just that small experiment. So, unnaturally, I have to write the script to this video after a huge portion of the work is finished.

Today I worked on the script for several hours, trying to project my message clearly. Mr. Silverman has always said that without a great script, a film can get nowhere. No matter how well everything else is done, the script is the foundation, and if it isn't good, the film won't be either. This script feels more natural, as it is basically just a speech, which is something I have written before. The hard part will be filming it and being able to say long sections of the speech naturally without a teleprompter, which is what news anchors, comedians, and other entertainers often use. However, I believe I can do it. It will take a while, but I will get it done.

Tomorrow is prom, so I probably won't do a ton of work on this. I plan on spending Sunday and maybe Monday to finish it up. The goal was to make a film each week, but as long as four get done, I think it will be okay. I am on good pace to finish this film soon, but I just want it to be right.
